Year 7 Sustainability CBL Project
(AITSL Standards 2.1, 2.3, 2.6, 7.1)
This project is an engaging multidisciplinary approach to teaching & learning that encourages learners to leverage the technology they use in their daily lives to solve real-world problems. Spanning over 3 weeks, I lead all Year 7 students and staff including all aspects of planning, staffing, budgeting, co-ordinating, monitoring and evaluating of the program each year, as well as supporting colleagues and students throughout the three weeks.

The Lab - Creativity in Practice
(AITSL Standards 1.2, 2.2, 3.1, 5.1)
The Lab is a cross-subject class designed and implemented by me where students look at creativity & problem solving in all of its forms and puts learners at the centre of that. It cuts across and incorporates traditional subjects and looks at what it means to be outside the square. It will teach and ask students to think about the ways we can approach problems, and to create, solve, build, manufacture and experiment, to be creative in new and different ways.
The Lab 2.0 P-12 Co-Curricular Program
(AITSL Standards 3.1, 3.6, 5.2)
Further developing the cross-curricular idea from Newington College, I developed “The Lab 2.0”. This K-12 initiative aims to foster creativity & problem solving in all areas of life, whether it be STEM, music, history, languages or sport, as well as exploring the value of deeper learning. In its first iteration, aiming at Primary students, Secondary students are hired as paid mentors to support primary students in their learning. Past students are hired as learning guides to co-develop and co-lead the program with teachers. As of 2020, this program has grown to involve over 100 students, is self-sustainable (mentors are coached to create learning experiences), and links with a range of industry partners.
P-12 Digital Learning Matrix
(AITSL Standards 2.2, 2.6, 3.4, 4.5)
Creating and mapping a P-12 learning sequence & pedagogical framework around digital learning that utilise comprehensive content knowledge to improve the selection and sequencing of content into coherently organised learning and teaching programs, which my digital learning team then support and coach teachers on delivering.
Design Thinking PLG
(AITSL Standards 1.5, 3.3, 6.3)
Lead strategies to support high-quality professional learning opportunities for colleagues that focus on improved student learning by incorporating the design thinking process into their teaching repertoire, and to encourage students to pursue challenging goals in all aspects of their education.
Coding Club
(AITSL Standards 3.1, 3.2, 3.3)
An after school coding club started by me for students at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. It expanded to be a space for teacher professional learning where I could demonstrate exemplary practice and high expectations and lead colleagues in encouraging students to pursue challenging goals in all aspects of their education.
